This land was chosen where a lotus flower fell down from Brahma's hand. Pushkar is known for the only temple in the world, dedicated to Lord Brahma, more than 500 temples of other Gods and Goddesses.

Old Rangji Temple Pushkar Rajasthan is a famous temple where ant tourists flock every year to pay their homage to the deities. Lord Rangji Temple speaks about Lord Rangji who is believed to be the incarnation of lord Vishnu. Old Rangji Temple was built in 1823 by Seth Puran Mal Ganeriwal of Hyderabad. Old Rangji Temple Pushkar is exclusive as here you can find the confluence of South Indian style (Dravid), Rajput style and Mughal style of architecture. The gracious Old Rangji Temple is very noticeable. It has a high rising Gopuram archetypal of southern India.

New Rangji Temple The gracious temple is very conspicuous, due to its Gopuram typical of southern India . The temple houses a huge image of Lord Vishnu. It has a high growing 'Gopuram' (large gate) and Garuda pillars studded with a legendary bird styled in gold.  Lord Rangji is known as incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The architecture of this temple is similar to those design found in South India. You can see large wooden doors having safety nails in the door to protect it being pushed by elephants at the time of war. He is can easily be described as the most important lord of the Hindu Trinity. Look to north India and you have Meera, the woman saint singing soulfully to her lord, Hari tum haro man ke pid. She invokes Vishnu by the name of Hari. O hari, the remover of all sorrow, come bless me, she sings. A devotee similar to her in South India called Andal sings the thirupavai again in praise of Lord Vishnu as Narayana.

Savitri Mandir on top of hill by the sacred lake of Pushkar, is the temple of Savitri. Across the lake on another hill is Gaytri Temple, both Lord Brahma’s wives. A temple dedicated to the first wife of Lord Brahma - the Savitri temple is located on the hill, behind the Brahma Temple, which can be reached by a flight of steps. The temple offers a panoramic view of the lake and the surrounding deserts cape.

Pap Mochini/Gayatri Peeth:
On The northern hill sits the temple of Pap Mochini (Sin absolving), housing Ekadashi Mata. This is considered the Best place to seek retribution for killing any living being. It is believed that "Ashvathama" cursed by Krishna in the Mahabharata to roam the world for three thousand years, comes here annually to seek retributions.

Gurdwara Singh Sabha - Pushkar or Pushkar Raj, a temple town around a natural lake, is 13 kilometres from Ajmer, to which it is connected by road. Pushkar was visited by Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Gobind Singh. The shrine commemorating the former Guru's visit was formerly called Guru Nanak Dharmasala but is not known as Gurdwara Singh Sabha and functions as a branch of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Ajmer. It is housed in a double-storey flat-roofed building near the bus stand. Guru Gobind Singh visited Pushkar during his travels in Rajputana in 1706. He was served by a priest named Chetan Das. The spot consecrated by the Guru's stay was called Gobind Ghat, but has now been renamed Gandhi Ghat. A stone slab under a kiosk still has Gobind Ghat inscribed on it in Gurumukhi, Devanagari, Persian and Roman scripts. Formerly a Gurdwara manned by Nirmala Sikhs also used to be here on the first floor of the gateway to the Ghat.
